Bradford Council is extending its obesity-fighting Prop Idol initiative in 2008 with courses taking place in Keighley as well as Bradford.
The Council's Sport and Leisure Service teamed up with the Bradford Bulls and Bradford and Airedale PCT to launch Prop Idol last year and is now taking the battle to Keighley.
The course is aimed at eight to 14-year-olds who maybe overweight or at risk of becoming so.
The new courses start on Monday 14 January at The Leisure Centre, Keighley and on Tuesday 15 January at Richard Dunn Sports Centre, and costs just 65p per session.
Prop Idol sessions run for eight weeks and sees youngsters participate in a one-hour physical activity session with Bradford Bulls coaches before taking part in a fun workshop based around healthy eating and increasing physical activity.
Parents will also be able to join in the workshops where there will be the opportunity to meet NHS professionals to discuss any concerns they may have and get expert advice.
Head of Sport and Leisure at Bradford Council, Steve Warner, said: "This particular area of work with young people is now very much a key part of our b active campaign.
"Prop Idol, along with other similar initiatives, plays a crucial role in our bid to get the message across that regular exercise and a sensible diet can help us all lead healthier lives.
"Teaming up with the Bradford Bulls and the Bradford and Airedale tPCT means there will be hands-on, expert advice available to children and their parents from some of the leading members in the health and exercise fields in our district."
Sessions at The Leisure Centre, Keighley take place between 4.15pm and 6.45pm, and 4.30pm to 6pm at Richard Dunn Sports Centre.
