Top marks again for children's homes
Bradford's children's homes are still first class following a recent check up of the service's performance.
The Council's Children's Residential Services continue to meet the high standards of the Charter Mark it received from Cabinet Office two years ago for excellence in Customer Services.
The Service - which is made up of eight children's homes across the district - was the first children's residential service in the country to receive such an accolade which means it is an example of good practice to other authorities.
To hold on to the Charter Mark the service has to show the assessors evidence of continuous improvement every year.
This year's review showed that the service continues to be efficient, listens to customers, works in partnership with other agencies for the benefit of customers, maintains high standards and has a committed workforce.
Coun Colin Gill, Executive Member for Children's Services, said: "All those working in this service have strived to create a warm, safe environment for those children and young people who live in them. Keeping this Charter Mark is a tribute to their hard work and commitment - congratulations to everyone involved."
