People who work with young people and children in Bradford are being urged to snap up bargains at a new arts and crafts store.
Funded by Bradford Council's community fund and backed by the Early Years and Childcare Service, the Scrap Store has been set up at Eccleshill Adventure Playground.
It is brimming with a vast range of materials, from beads to balloons and from paints to pom-poms, to help youngsters enjoy creative play.
Various types of paper, pens and craft tools are also on sale - all at low prices.
The aim of the shop, which is also open to the public, is to help people obtain the necessary materials to offer children and young people the opportunity to develop their skills through play and crafts.
It reclaims and recycles safe waste materials from local businesses and industry, such as large wooden reels, cardboard tubes, fabric off cuts, and foam, which - with a bit of imagination - can be used for all sorts of play.
Julie Mattocks-Cawood, Bradford Council's Participation, Play and Workforce Development officer, said: "It's fantastic to see the new Scrap Store up and running. It has a wonderful selection of basic and advanced arts and crafts materials on offer and workers will be spoilt for choice!"
The Voluntary and Community Sector Play Consortium - which is made up of three play projects; The Play Network (Bradford); the Adventurous Play Experience and Eccleshill Adventure Playground - was commissioned by the Council to offer a comprehensive voluntary and community sector play service throughout the district.
The new shop, which is not for profit, is part of their work and is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 1pm.
Items can also be ordered online through the Play Network's website at www.playnetworkbradford.co.uk and the order will be ready for collection.
