National Customer Services Week will once again feature the highly popular tours of some of Bradford's major landmarks such as St George's Hall, Cartwright Hall and the Alhambra.
Bradford Council celebrates the week which takes place from October 6 - 12 with a number of events including tours around some of its fascinating buildings.
It is a great chance to have a look round backstage at both the Alhambra and St George's Hall, and to get an insight into the role of a Conservation Officer at Cartwright Hall which features all kinds of exhibitions as well as having its own long standing collection of art which is rotated on a regular basis. The public can learn about fine art conservation and the cutting edge technology that is sometimes used to conserve art and other exhibits such as stained glass.
The hour-long tours include:
St George's Hall. 11am. Thursday, October 9.
Cartwright Hall. 2pm. Thursday, October 9.
Alhambra. 11am. Friday, October 10.
Central Library. 2pm. Friday, October 10.
There are also two tours of City Hall which take place on Monday, October 6 and Wednesday, October 8 from 10.30am on both days. These give people the chance to visit the Lord Mayor's rooms, the splendid silverware that has been donated to the city over the years and the court room that was used for filming Tracey's trial in Coronation Street.
Early booking is advisable for all of these tours as they are very popular, particularly the ones of City Hall and the theatres.
Coun Mohammad Masood, Executive Member for Corporate, said: "We always lay on some good events during National Customer Services Week as we put customers at the heart of everything we do.
"As well as holding the tours, the Chief Executive and other senior managers 'go back to the shop floor' to remind themselves what are the public's priorities and issues."
Members of the public can also test their skills with a word search competition which gives them the chance of winning £20 in High Street vouchers. Entry forms are available at Council reception points or on www.bradford.gov.uk
