Lady Mayoress's Spring Fayre
Shoes and handbags - not to mention pearls - will be on sale at the Lady Mayoress of Bradford's annual Spring Fayre in City Hall on Thursday March 13.
Bradford's new Poet Laureate, Gerard Benson, will open the event at 10am with a poem he has penned especially for the occasion.
Restaurants which have hosted Curry Club nights for the Lord Mayor, Coun Robin Owens, will be selling Asian snacks for anyone who gets peckish between 10am and 3pm in the Banqueting Hall, and there will also be tea and coffee and scones served.
The event has been organised by women from faith and community groups throughout the district supported by Bradford Council to raise money for the Lord Mayor's Appeal for Bradford's Cancer Support Centre's Daisy Appeal and the Ear Trust.
Lady Mayoress, Mrs Janet Owens, said: "This is a wonderful annual event and it's a great opportunity to come into City Hall and have a look round whilst supporting two very good causes and bagging some bargains.
"I look forward to welcoming everyone to the Fayre and hope that we have a busy and successful day."
Stalls will include Easter gifts, jewellery, shoes, handbags, tombola, toiletries, plants and the chance to win a whole host of prizes.
Admission is 50 pence and children are free and get a gift.
