The Learning Zone at Bradford Central LibraryThe Learning Zone is the area in the library where adults can learn using computer-based learning courses.

In the Learning Zone you can learn in a quiet environment, at your own pace, with staff on hand to help you.

The Learning Zone is on the 1st floor of the Central Library

What can I do in the Learning Zone?

The Learning ZoneIT for complete beginners
Have a go at an IT beginner’s course; these are free taster sessions that introduce you to

  • using a mouse,
  • using the keyboard
  • basic word processing
  • using email
  • surfing the internet

Moving on

Easy courses to take you a bit further..

  • Intro to using a pc
  • Intro to word processing
  • Intro to spreadsheets

All these courses are FREE and have staff support

IT4U
For more advanced IT courses ask the staff about our “IT For You” courses. You can do these simply to learn more, or to prepare yourself for the ECDL qualification. There may be a small charge for these courses.


Skills for Life
– getting up to speed with English and maths

Do you feel as if you have a skills gap?

Do you struggle with punctuation, writing letters, fractions or percentages?

This is your chance to brush up your English or Maths skills

  • Short, fun courses which help you to polish up your maths or English
