Using the search
The search is available from every page on the website. It is located at the top of every page. The search works using either a single word e.g. 'Waste', 'planning' or by typing in a short phrase e.g. Council Tax, Corporate Plan. The search results will be listed according to relevance to the search word.
Navigate the site
There are a number of different navigation options available:
- Use the main sections
- Business - section about business and industry information including Business Rates
- Council & Democracy - section about the function of Bradford Council includes Councillor information, policies, performance and procurement
- Education - includes sections on early years, childcare, school and adult courses
- Environment - includes sections on environmental protection, emergency planning (floods), waste management, recycling
- Housing - section about housing services in the district includes a link to BCHT
- Leisure & Culture - tourism, sport facilities, museums, theatres, events
- Social Care - benefits, social services

The site map lists all the top and second level menu options on the site. By clicking on any of the links you will be taken to the relevant section of the website. - Contact Us

This section gives you options of: - Finding a service contact details - phone, fax, location,

Accessibility Options
Should you find the site difficult to read in its standard layout you can chose to display the site using a different display layout. The accessibility section of the site gives you instructions on how to download PDF documents, change your font / colour settings on your browser, how to use access keys (short cuts round the site)
Print this Page
This option is available from all pages of the website and will change the layout so that is printer friendly. You will need to have access to a printer for this feature to work.
Email to a friend
Should you wish to send the page of information to a friend you may do so by clicking on this option. You will be required to fill in both your email address and your friends. You may add a message if you wish.
Link to this page
If you have a website and would like to link to a specific page on the Bradford Council's Website you can use this option.
Add page to favourites
If you wish to create a short cut to a section of the website you can create a link in your web browse favourites menu. Click on the 'Add to favourites' link then click OK in the Windows box that appears.
Subscribe to Podcast updates

A podcast is a media file that you can download from the Internet to your computer or mp3 player. You can subscribe free of charge to Bradford Council's podcasts using podcast programs, such as iTunes or Juice. You can usually download these programs for free. If you subscribe, your podcast program will check for new Bradford Council podcasts automatically and download them when they are available.
You don't need an iPod or mp3 player to subscribe to podcasts. You can play the files on your computer using a media player such as Windows Media Player.
To subscribe, you need to copy the Bradford Council Feed address (below) and paste it into to your podcast program. The exact way you will do this depends on which program you use.
