Delivering Services to Parents with Learning Difficulty and their Children – the issues and dilemmas - A half day multi-agency course
This course is for managers in Children's and Adult Services that have a responsibility for allocation of casework and resources to deliver services to adults with a learning difficulty who are parents.
Purpose of the course
- To refresh on current guidance and legislation and consider the challenges and dilemmas of meeting the needs of families where a parent has a learning difficulty.
- To consider how to develop good practice within services and to acknowledge the need to bridge the gap between adult and children services with a particular focus on safeguarding children.
What does the course cover?
- An overview of current legislation and guidance
- Making best use of resources whilst meeting the needs of families
- Meeting the challenges of multidisciplinary working
- Engaging and supporting staff in good practice approaches
