Homelessness - Implications For Working With Families Children and Young People

BSCB logo

People who are involved in children’s cases know how homelessness or potential homelessness can affect a family and also the services that can be provided for them. Homelessness can also affect young people who leave their families for whatever reason. In order to assist these clients it is important that all workers understand the legislation under which Bradford Community Housing Trust (which used to be the Housing Directorate of the Council) works because it is this legislation which can govern the response given to people who present as homeless.

This course is designed to introduce this topic to you and will give you an opportunity to learn the law and then apply it to child protection scenarios. By learning the criteria which are applied to people who present as homeless you will understand the difficulties faced by the Housing Advice Service and at the end of the course you will be able to give some advice to your clients about these issues or at the very least give them advice on where to get help.

Who will present the course?
