Hidden Dimensions of Abuse

A One Day Multi-Agency basic awareness Course looking at the effects of abuse on vulnerable adults, Children and Family Members
Purpose of this course
Participants will gain an increased awareness of the importance of recognising and preventing abuse, a basic knowledge of what to do if they are concerned about a child or adult who is experiencing abuse and other learning opportunities that are available in Bradford District regarding Domestic Abuse, Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults.
Target Audience
Staff from both Adults and Children’s services from a range of disciplines e.g. doctors, nurses, social workers, healthcare assistants, volunteers, therapists, counsellors, especially those who need an update in adult protection, or basic awareness training in child protection, adult protection or/and domestic abuse.

- Domestic abuse - Lindsay Bridge, Bradford Domestic Abuse Training Coordinator
- Abuse of Vulnerable Adults - Sally Griffin, Employee Development Officer, Workforce Development.
- Legal Aspects of Abuse
- Child Abuse – Julie Evans, BSCB Multi-Agency Training Co-ordinator and Lynne White, trainer.
What will the course cover?
- The basic principles of abuse
- A basic awareness of adult protection
- A basic awareness of domestic abuse
- A basic awareness of child abuse
- What is expected regarding reporting abuse
- How to raise any concerns about abuse appropriately
- How to access further advice, training and supervision
