Drug and Alcohol - Basic Awareness

Available to: Staff employed by Bradford Council (Social Care), Bradford District Care Trust, Voluntary Agency and Independent Sector Staff within Bradford - who come into contact with substance users but are not specialists in drug & alcohol issues.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify a range of different substances and understand their effects.
  • Identify and understand the nature of drug problems: physical, psychological and social.
  • Understand the legal implications of substance use.
  • Recognise attitudes within society including common myths.
  • Understand the Harm Reduction approach and its application to substance use.
