Learning Objectives:
- Why understanding theory is important to help us interpret and analyse our observations of children
- Understanding the critical developmental dimensions (biological, social, emotional and cognitive) in this early period of human development
- Recognising that genetics, maturation and the social environment are interrelated in influencing developmental outcomes
- Recognising how key vulnerabilities and adversities can threaten healthy development
