Child Development - Adolescence
Through consideration of the transition into adulthood, changing roles and the growth of independence and maturity, we will learn about social, emotional, physical and psychological development in adolescence
Learning Objectives:
- Exploring aspects of biological development, including physical changes, puberty, sexuality and growth
- How behavioural and social learning theories explain human development in the teenage years
- Theoretical perspectives in relation to the development of behaviour
- Exploration of moral development
- Recognising how individual difference – such as gender, race, culture and disability, can impact on the experience of adolescence
- Recognising how key vulnerabilities and adversities can threaten healthy development
