Introduction To Interpersonal and Counselling Skills

This 30 hour course is accredited by Leeds Metropolitan University (15 credits at level 1), and introduces you to basic counselling skills. You will be required to submit a written assignment for assessment.

Learning Objectives:

  • To understand the ‘relational approach’, role boundaries, and confidentiality.
  • To develop interpersonal skills e.g. active listening, reflecting and questioning.
  • To explore impact of values, ethics, diversity on counselling.

Aimed At: Bradford Council Adults Services and Services to Children and Young People staff who work with service users in a supportive one-to-one role. We occasionally have places that can be offered to Staff from other agencies within Bradford - please contact us to enquire.

Introductory briefing 3rd September 2008, then 10 Thursday mornings from September - December 2008.

Times: 9.30-12.30pm
