Induction - Adult Services

A good Induction is essential in helping new employees, whatever their role, to work effectively to improve outcomes for Older People.

The attached two workbooks have been developed to provide a consistent induction process for all new employees in Adult Services.

Adult Services: Induction for Managers

Adult Services: Generic Induction Workbook for all new staff

Both are designed to be downloaded, saved to file and accessed via a computer as they contain hyperlinks to live information.

***If you do not download and save the file and work from your own copy you may find some of the links inaccessible.

They workbooks are aimed at:

  • All front line care staff who do not already have a comprehensive induction programme
  • All new Managers
  • All admin support and specialist staff
  • Agency staff as appropriate

Employees and their line Managers are jointly responsible for ensuring the whole induction process, including these workbooks, meets the particular needs of each new starter.

Comments and Feedback:

These workbooks are a pilot working version, please give the Workforce Development Unit feedback about what works and what can be improved. We look forward to hearing from you.
