Training
Bradford Early Years, Childcare & Play runs a variety of training courses open to a wide variety of people including practitioners, volunteers, foster carers and parents. BEYCP can also provide in-house training for settings where a particular training need has been identified.
Training prospectus
The Bradford Early Years, Childcare & Play Training Prospectus contains a range of courses and workshops designed to increase knowledge and develop skills.

The prospectus is split in to two sections:
Section 1
Courses in section 1 are primarily for childcare, early years or play practitioners across the Bradford District. However we recognise that practitioners working with children and young people in other areas of the children’s workforce may wish to attend these courses.
- Health and Safety
The courses in the section are specifically related to many health and safety issues relevant for practitioners working in all childcare, early years or playwork settings. Some courses are externally assessed certificates and require short tests and/or assessments. Please do approach the tutor if you have any anxieties about this and especially if you might need any additional support.
- Business Management
The courses in this section are relevant for playgroups, crèches, day nurseries, out of school clubs and childminders. Regardless of whether your setting is private, voluntary or maintained sector, these courses will help take the mystery out of management and put the buzz back into your business.
- Working with Under 5’s
Includes training on Birth to Three Matters and the Foundation Stage, and the Nursery Schools Consortium Training.
- Working with over 5’s
The courses in this section are particularly aimed at practitioners working with school aged children in a variety of play and out of school settings. However childminders and other childcare staff will find the range of courses relevant to their work.
Section 2
This section contains a comprehensive list of childcare, early years or playwork qualifications available in the Bradford District. You will need to contact the individual training providers for specific details on course costs and submissions criteria.
