Children's Initial Contact Point

The Children’s Initial Contact Point is the first point of contact for all new calls and enquiries to Children’s Division, by telephone or in writing, from members of the public and other professionals.
The role of the team is to ensure, from the information obtained, that all calls and enquiries are directed either to the local Area Assessment Team or named worker within Social Services, or to a more appropriate Department or agency, dependent upon the nature of the call. The team also process all new mail and faxes on behalf of the Division and re-direct to the appropriate Social Services office for action.
