Shared Care - Where your time really does make a difference

Give it up for Anna…

Anna has physical and learning disabilities and needs a lot of help with everyday tasks. She lives with her parents but would like to have an occasional break from home. Anna’s parents would like her to have a social life outside of the family which would also give them an opportunity to have a break from caring.

Could you help someone like Anna and her family by giving a little of your time - perhaps one weekend a month?

Where your time really does make a difference

In the Bradford district many families include a person who has a disability.

Having a disabled person in the family has many positive aspects but can be tiring, lonely and demanding – their special needs mean that they require a lot of care and attention.

The Bradford Shared Care Scheme offers short term family-based breaks to disabled people and their families. The scheme also offers long-term family placements to adults with a disability as an alternative to residential care.
