Help From Careline Overview

Complete peace of mind 24 hours a day.

Security and reassurance at the touch of a button.

  • You may be getting older.
  • You probably want to remain in your own home, in familiar surroundings.
  • You may have no close family in the area.
  • Your family may not be easy to contact in the event of any emergency.

There is an answer: Careline

Careline
is Bradford Council’s Community Alarm System. Using the latest technology, your home can be connected to Careline, where calls are monitored 24 hours a day.

Careline, How does it work?

The alarm unit operates over the telephone network. Equipment supplied by us, plugs into an electric socket, and a telephone point. These need to be reasonably close together. We can check if your existing sockets are suitable, and advise if any alterations are necessary. (We regret we cannot pay for any changes that may be required).

At our Careline offices, information provided and approved by you is held on computer, and is instantly available so that effective action can be taken in any emergency. The moment a call is received, the operator will know your name address, GP, next of kind and key holder information. All information is confidential.

Careline has its own mobile staff operating in the Bradford Metropolitan area. They are trained in first aid, and provide a back up to your named contacts. Mobile staff can assist in a simple emergency, but are not able to perform “care tasks”.

Careline, How much does it cost?

Our current charge at May 2003 is £4.05 plus VAT per week (you may be exempt from VAT – we will advise you). This covers the cost of the service and the rental of the Careline unit. There is a one – off administration / installation fee of £10.00. We send bills quarterly in arrears. Arrangements can be made for you to pay on a monthly basis through your bank.

Careline equipment is simple to use:

A press of a button, and you are in touch with us.

  • We will know who you are at once.
  • Information supplied by you and stored on our system will be highlighted automatically.
  • Operators can speak to you through the Careline unit.
  • All calls are monitored and recorded for your safety and security.

If you need any further information or want to arrange installation of an alarm unit or a no-obligation demonstration, please contact Careline on (01274) 533770.
