Change for Children Public Consultation Documents - Draft Children and Young People's Plan 2006 - 2009
On this page you can access the first draft of the Children and Young People’s Plan (C&YP Plan) compiled by the Change for Children Team on behalf of the Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnership (CYPSP).
Consultation on the C&YP Plan will be from October to 22 December 2005.
The C&YP Plan sets out how the Council and partners propose to improve outcomes for all children and young people and narrow the gap between those who do well and those who do not. The purpose is to focus on those outcomes where change is most needed and to tackle these through new Children’s Trust arrangements. Important principles are to increase investment in prevention and early intervention, as well as a progressive re-focussing of services to address priorities.
The C&YP Plan is a requirement of the Children Act 2004. By April 2006 each local authority must have in place a strategic, over arching plan for the Council and its partners for improving services for children and young people.
