Asset Management

Asset Management is responsible for the strategic management of the Council’s owned and leased operational and non operational property.

Asset Management are responsible for:

  • The strategic management of the Council’s property portfolio.
  • Providing general and specialist advice to support effective property decisions including development and regeneration schemes.
  • Acquisitions and disposals of property by sale, or lease, to support the Council’s corporate objectives.
  • Maintenance of the Council’s property records including the common lands register and Council’s asset register.
  • Estate management of the Council’s non operational property.
  • Management of the Council’s allotment belts.

Asset Management works in close association with the Facilities Management section of Customer Services, who are responsible for:

  • The construction design and maintenance of all council premises, including energy management.
  • Technical evaluation of strategic property options.
  • The day-to-day running of the Council’s main office premises.
  • The overall strategic management of school premises.
