Corporate Plan

Each year the Council publishes its Corporate Plan, setting out its priorities, goals and targets for the next three years. The plan is supported by the Council’s medium term financial strategy.

The Council’s priorities are:

  • Educating and supporting children
  • Creating a more prosperous district
  • Safer and stronger communities
  • Improving the environment
  • Healthier communities and choice for vulnerable adults and older people
  • Improving customer services

These priorities support the Bradford 2020 Vision and 5-Year Community Strategy, which the Council is working to deliver along with its partners in the district. Many of the targets contained in the Corporate Plan reflect those contained in the Community Strategy and Local Area Agreement (LAA).

The Corporate Plan is updated each year, to reflect new developments and the Council’s approved budget.

The Corporate Plan 2007-2010 is entitled Citizens First and was approved by the Council on 26 June 2007. It can be viewed via the link at the bottom of the page.

A detailed Action Plan for 2007/08 can also be viewed.

The Council’s performance results for the 2006/07 financial year are contained in a separate document - Reporting our Performance - which can be viewed via the link below.

The Corporate Plan, together with Reporting our Performance constitutes what is known as the Council’s “Best Value Performance Plan”, which it has to publish by law by 30 June each year.
