Provide meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities and enable them to progress to their full potential.
ISG has a Group Support Function & three Operational Departments (Manufacturing, Festival Lights and Mailing & Packing). These three operational departments operate from three locations. The Manufacturing Department is based at Paddock, Frizinghall. Festival Lights Department is located in a modern factory unit on the Venlo Industrial Estate together with the Mailing and Packing Department that also operates from a workshop unit at the Towngate Business Centre.
Jobcentre Plus provides funding through the WORKSTEP Supported Employment Programme. Bradford Council provides additional base funding. Over 90% of income is generated from sales to customers. The respective businesses must compete for work without further subsidy and operate in a commercial context. This keeps ISG honest in terms of maximising operating efficiency and minimising costs to deliver optimum customer value. It differentiates the organisation from establishments that provide therapeutic work and day-care for people with disabilities. The ISG environment reflects methods and practices employed in commercial enterprises and provides valuable training and work experience for its contracted employees, enabling them to consider career development opportunities.
