Outdoor Education Celebration Night

Young people from across the district came together to celebrate their involvement and successes in Bradford Youth Service's Outdoor Education Programme. In total 531 young people attended 21 programmes and events.

Approximately 50 young people attended the event to receive accreditation and trophies in recognition of their efforts over the wide and varied programmes that the Youth Service offers.

The highlights of this year's event were presentations made by the young people involved in the New Neighbour’s Project - Emily Clark; Summer Fusion - Clayton/Queensbury Youth Group; Champion's Challenge – Buttershaw Girl's Group.

Trophies were presented to Youth Inclusion Programme, winners of "It's a Knockout", Clayton/Queensbury Youth Group, winners of "Summer Fusion" and Bradford Academy/Youth Base, winners of Champion's Challenge. There were also individual awards for young people who were recognised by their team leaders on the Champion's Challenge 5-day expedition as having made an outstanding effort in getting their group through this toughest of challenges.

The most prestigious award was given to Emily Clark as "Outdoor Education Achiever of the Year" for her outstanding efforts in a variety of programmes supporting, mentoring, promoting and enthusing others to take part in outdoor activity.
