Our five year vision is for every one of our children to have the best possible start in life. Everything you will find in the Children and Young People's Plan is there in order to make this happen.
The Council and its partners are committed to improving the life chances for all children. Our efforts will be directed to supporting children when they are vulnerable and providing this support at the earliest opportunity and at the earliest age. We have put in place a preventative framework which will enable services to intervene early at the point where things first start to go wrong in their lives. This is the Big Idea, to which partners have signed up: "local joined up services focussed on prevention".
Young people are our future and the district's growing young population is one of our greatest assets. We aim to help all children and young people to achieve their potential and enjoy their lives and at the same time make the best of this great asset for the benefit of the whole community.
