Community Play and Activities Development Service

We are a team of fully qualified and experienced play development staff offering a range of play based alternative programmes for children and families at large play events, and within schools.

Our play activities aim to improve educational outcomes and physical health and wellbeing for children and young people.

Holiday play activities

Fun, free activities with friends in your local area during school holidays and throughout the year - stay active and have fun with play, games, arts and crafts, inflatable fun, storytelling, dance, drama, sports coaching, fun day trips and much more!

Equipment hire and events

We have a wide range of high quality equipment to suit every occasion. We offer a range of event options from staffed equipment hire to full event management packages. Event packages are bespoke to each client designed to suit you event and budget.

Childcare

Access to affordable quality childcare, of nationally recognised standards, in neighbourhoods and communities throughout the Bradford district. Schemes registered with our Unit offer a wide range of physical and educational activities based around safe play, the environment and healthy living.

Schools

We can tailor packages to incorporate specific organisational priorities, with activities suitable for whole school engagement or smaller targeted groups, supporting children with a wide range of needs to engage and achieve within school. We also offer training to support your school staff in continuing positive play programmes therefore encouraging sustainability of this approach.

Development, co-ordination and delivery of school based play and multi activity sessions/programmes.

Children and young people will benefit from engagement in many activities ranging from play, sport, multi activities and alternative activities.

The programmes can offer support and training for staff, to enable the sustainability.

Local community groups

A Membership Scheme provides access to a wide variety of inclusive play resources and sports equipment, including co-operative and team building games, a badge or key ring maker. Sessions are also available, on a range of equipment such as inflatables, surf or snowboard simulator or light chaser. Annual membership fee is £30. National Play Day

Play Day celebrates every child’s right to 'Play' and every year the district celebrates Play Day (first Wednesday in August) with a week packed full of activities organised in partnership with the voluntary, community and statutory sector.

Baildon Recreation Centre hosts Baildon Play Day on the first Wednesday of August. Well over 1000 children and young people join in these fun-filled events. It provides children, young people and communities with the opportunity to experience challenging and adventurous play activities. and unites children from diverse backgrounds right across the district promoting open access inclusive play.
