The Council policy with regard to Fairtrade is as follows:
All coffee, tea, chocolate and bananas provided as part of municipal meetings, functions and meals are procured from Fairtrade sources as far as is practical within existing UK and European legislation.

This was passed as a resolution at the meeting of Full Council on 17 July 2002.
