Licensing Act 2003
Under the Licensing Act 2003, the Council is required to carry out its licensing functions with a view to promoting the four licensing objectives which are:
- Prevention of crime and disorder
- Public Safety
- Prevention of public nuisance
- Protection of children from harm
The policy below details the Council's approach to promoting the licensing objectives and provides that the Council will encourage the responsible promotion and organising of licence activities and events but not tolerate irresponsible licensing activity, in the interests of both business and domestic residents.
