Street and Road Works Register
Forthcoming Highway Works
The Street and Road Works Register gives details of works in the highway which are either planned to take place, are taking place or have been completed. These works can be promoted by the Council (as Highway Authority), Utility companies or private developers but irrespective of the promoter they have been identified as having an impact on both pedestrians or traffic. The Register also gives details of roads where a restriction on works within a specified period have been registered (Section 58 of The New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 restriction).
Details of Skip and Scaffold licences on the highway and closures of roads due to events are also shown.
Schemes that involve white lining or works of a minor nature (e.g. pot hole filling) not involving excavation of the highway surface are not included. Similarly, works on public footpaths are not shown.
