Bradford Council Waste Facts

• Collects 10.7 million domestic residual waste bins per year
• Collects more than 30,000 bulk collections per year
• Repairs or replaces 10,000 damaged wheeled bins per year
• Maintains 8 Household Waste Sites and over 60 Bring Sites across the district
• Handles approximately 220,000 tonnes of domestic waste and recycles or composts approximately a quarter of it
• Runs a competitive trade waste service that has an well established customer base, offering competitive rates and excellent recycling opportunities
• The Council has obtained PFI funding credits from Government for the procurement of a long term 25 year contract for the treatment of the council's residual waste that will meet national targets for the diversion of biodegradable waste away from landfill, and enhance recycling.
