Save Money and Energy at Home

Energy Saving MeterGet smart about electricity - borrow an ‘Energy Saving Meter’ today from your local library!

Join the fight against rocketing electricity bills and climate change by monitoring the amount of electricity you use in your home.

Using the meters will give you a greater understanding of how electricity is used in your household and give you ideas about how you can reduce your consumption and your electricity bills, as well as reducing your carbon footprint.

You could save up to 25% on your electricity bill!

The meters are simple to install and you don’t need an electrician.

There are two types of meters available for you to borrow; one involves a simple sensor that clips around the cable to your electricity meter, a transmitter and a wireless display. This will tell you either the number of kilowatts or the average hourly cost of the electricity you are using at any given time.

The other meters are plug-ins that monitors the usage of individual appliances whether they are in use or on standby. Simply plug this monitor into the wall then plug the item into the monitor and you’ll see exactly how much electricity it consumes.

Using the meters will give you:

  • An understanding of how electricity is used in your household
  • Ideas about how you can reduce your consumption
  • Help reduce your electricity bills by up to 25%,
  • Reduce your carbon footprint
