Wheeled Bin Maintenance
This information is about the green residual (general) waste bins that are collected weekly.
Residual waste bins
Bradford Council runs a wheeled bin maintenance service for damaged residual bins, and also delivers new bins where necessary.
How much is it for a new bin?
The charge for a new bin is £33.60.
This is for a standard green 240 litre wheeled bin that is required for your residual waste.
Please contact us if you need a new bin or if your bin has been stolen.
Can I buy a bin from anyone else?
You can also purchase a 240 litre wheeled bins from commercial retail outlets, but they must be Forest Green RAL and meet the BSEN 840: 2004 specification standard. If the bin does not meet the criteria then it is likely it will not be emptied.
Repairs to lids / wheels for wheeled bins
We carry a stock of lids and wheels with which we will endeavour to replace cracked lids and wheels. This service is free, but if on inspecting the bin we can’t repair the damage we will inform you that you will have to purchase a new bin.

What if I can’t manage a standard sized bin?
If you feel you can’t present your current 240 litre bin we can exchange your 240 litre wheeled bin for a smaller 140 litre bin. Please contact us to discuss this further.
If you have no bin and wish to buy a 140 litre bin, the price is the same as the 240 litre bin due to manufacturing costs and supply reasons.
If you can’t manage a wheeled bin at all then please contact us to discuss a possible exemption. We can assess your case and if you meet the criteria you will be put on a black sack collection.
