Recycling at home - Kerbside Services

Coming Soon

Improvements to the districts kerbside recycling service are to be introduced over the next few years. The improvements are being rolled out from April 2013, you will be informed when changes are occurring in your neighbourhood.

What will be changing?

  • Fortnightly Collections - the current 4 weekly collection of dry recyclables will become fortnightly, so you'll have twice as many collections and twice as much space to recycle, enabling you to recycle more!
  • Plastic Bottles - Plastic bottles will be added to the range of materials collected. You will be able to place plastic bottles in with the glass and cans that are currently collected.
  • Brown Bins - A Brown bin will be introduced to replace the green bags currently used.

Please wait to receive information about the changes, until then please continue with the current recycling service as detailed below

Recycling at home is really simple and it's something that can involve the whole family. The Council provides free recycling collections in all areas of the district. Separate services are available for the following materials:

Some homes in parts of Keighley and the Worth and Aire valleys may have their recycling collected by Aire Valley Recycling.

Paper, glass and cans

The Council provide an insert for recycling bins in the district, which allow you, the resident, to recycle glass and cans in the same bin as your paper.

The recycling bin is designed to minimise the amount of space required at home, whilst giving the opportunity to recycle more materials. The bin and insert are collected every four weeks, indicated by the sticker supplied with the delivery of the insert.

If you do not have a recycling bin or insert please call our recycling team on 01274 431000 and we will arrange to deliver one free of charge.
