Please note the Bulky Waste Collection Service is provided at management discretion. If the waste is presented in an unsatisfactory manner, is suspected to be commercial or where access is difficult we reserve the right to ask for changes or possibly even refuse to make the collection.

Electrical items

We work with a specialist recycling contractor who collects and disposes of unwanted electrical items (domestic household items only). There will be a charge for fridges and freezers etc. Where possible our contractor WEEECARE will try and re-use, repair or recycle electrical items.

If you have any larger electrical items such as an old TV, Hi-Fi, washing machine, fridge, cooker or a microwave for example, please get in touch with us and we will arrange a bulky waste collection from you.

Black Refuse Bags

Did you know that more than half the contents of an average rubbish bin can be recycled? So make sure you recycle all you can before leaving black refuse bags out. To discuss collection of excess black refuse bags please contact us in advance.

Garden Waste

Please use the garden waste collection service or recycle garden waste at your local Household Waste Recycling Centre.

See www.bradford.gov.uk/recycling

Fly Tipping

Fly tipping is where people illegally dump waste onto the highways, footpaths or land. Fly tipping is an offence for which you will be prosecuted.

If you see anyone dumping waste please note as many details as possible and call 01274 434366 straight away.

Leaving out your waste

Once you have booked your bulky waste collection, please ensure that:

  • Items such as sofas, mattresses, and armchairs are covered in plastic sheeting so they do not get wet. If they are wet, we will not be able to lift them safely and they may get left behind.
  • Your bulky waste is located no more than 25m from a place where a refuse collection vehicle can access.
  • The items being collected are left within the boundaries of the property within a recognised refuse storage area.

Please note that collection staff will not enter homes, sheds, garages and outbuildings.
