Evidence Base - Gypsy and Travellers Accommodation Assessment
The Government requires LDF’s to set out the accommodation needs of the Gypsy and Traveller and Travelling Showpeople communities and to identify suitable sites for the development of that accommodation. Site requirements and policies must be informed by a current and robust Gypsy and Accommodation Assessment produced in line with Government guidance issued in October 2007.
The West Yorkshire Housing Partnership has commissioned the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research (CRESR) at Sheffield Hallam University to produce an Accommodation Assessment for the 5 West Yorkshire local authorities. The study was completed earlier this year.
