Evidence Base - Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA)
The purpose of the study is to identify areas of the District at risk from flooding and the impact on development potential within the District.
Bradford Council has commissioned JBA Consulting to undertake a Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) for Bradford. A steering group made up of key officers from CBMDC, Environment Agency and Pennine Water Group has formed to guide this process. As of April 2009, work is currently progressing the Level 1 study which will provide an overview of the flood risk issues across the District. We now have better data that allows us to estimate current and future flood risk and this data will be used to assess potential land for development. The SFRA will be published as part of the evidence base for the Core Strategy Preferred Options Report.
