Meet Jeff Brodrick at 10.30am at Bracken Hall, Shipley Glen. Good paths as we head for Bingley and beyond then return along The Glen.
Wednesday 4th
Springtime in Lambing Country
5 miles (8km) Circular
Packed lunch
Meet Anne Hodgson at 10.30am in the main car park near the village hall in Gargrave for a walk through a varied landscape with one steep hill. Hopefully spring will be well under way with lambs and water birds. Maybe even a kingfisher.
Friday 6th
Calvary on Good Friday

Packed lunch
Meet Peter Beaumont at 11am outside Ilkley Railway Station for a walk up the hill to Calvary. Then along to Nesfield to return through fields and woodland.
Easter Sunday 8th
Silsden Moor

Meet Kenneth Allen at 11am at the pay and display car park (usually free on Sundays), Wesley Place, Silsden for a steady climb over Silsden Moor. Expect Easter lambs and a stile or two on this delightful walk.

Meet Barbara Walker at 10.30am at Bridle Stile car park off the A6036 at Shelf. A surprisingly rural walk on field paths and quiet farm lanes, incorporating sections of both the Bronte and Calderdale Way.

Meet Anthony Green at 10.30am at Foster Park, Denholme for a walk encircling Doe Park, Stubden and Thornton Moor Reservoirs.

Meet Stewart Elliott at 10.30am at Menston Recreation Ground, Bingley Road, off A65 opposite the ambulance station. Climb to the Chevin to join forest paths linking the new geology route.

Meet Colin Pitts at 11am at the pay and display car park off Station Road, Esholt. Public transport users alight at Hollins Hill and walk down Station Road. A woodland walk and a few tales.

Tuesday 1st
May Day Madness
4 miles (6.4km) Circular
Snack
Meet Barbara Walker at 4am! at the cemetery near St. Mary's R.C. school on the A65 at Menston. Uphill all the way to Otley Chevin where, traditionally, Morris Dancers greet the sun on May Day. Bring warm clothes, a torch and your breakfast. Clogs not needed!

Meet Kenneth Allen at 11am at Pool Bridge, on the A658 at the bottom of Pool Bank, for a brisk walk through fields, woodland and along the riverside.
Wednesday 9th
River to River

Meet Colin Pitts at Burley in Wharfedale station to catch the 10.29 train to Shipley (pay your own fare). The walk then starts from Shipley station at 10.45am, viewing the Aire and the Wharfe before returning to Burley Station.

A View into Lancashire

Meet Eddie Nash at 11am at the Hare and Hounds public house in the centre of Lothersdale, North Yorkshire. A walk along the Pennine Way across Elslack Moor and through farmland and woodland. Please park considerately on the road in the village.

Meet Stewart Elliott at 10.30am at Rylstone Pond, four miles north of Skipton on the B6275 for a walk through farmland and rough moorland to a spectacular view point.

Walkers Ability
Due to the nature of the Lake District, all the walks this weekend are harder and take longer than our usual local walks. You will need to have a good level of fitness, food and drink and sensible clothing (for a 6/7 hour walk). Walk leaders will not accept responsibility for anyone inadequately prepared.

Aira Force and Gowbarrow

Meet Anthony Green at 10.30am at The National Trust car park at Aira Force, Ullswater to take in views of Ullswater. Descend to walk around the fell, returning through a forest before taking in more views of the lake.

Meet Howard Lloyd at 10.30am at Coniston Information Centre. Come and enjoy the delights of this most scenic area of The Lakes with a gentle walk on good paths with spectacular views, including the picturesque Yew Tree Farm owned by Beatrix Potter in the 1930s.

Meet Eddie Nash at 11am on the canal bridge at the bottom of Victoria Road, Saltaire. This level canal and riverside walk is suitable for beginners but not for pushchair or wheelchair users. The walk includes a short talk at the Denso Marsden Nature Reserve by the warden. When walking by water be S.A.F.E. - Stay Away From the Edge.

4 miles (6.4km) Circular Meet Chris Jennings at 3.30am!! At Wells Road car park, Ilkley. Bring your breakfast, warm clothing and torch for this most exhilarating climb to the Twelve Apostles stone circle to watch the sun rise on the summer solstice.

Map Reading
Join Peter Beaumont at 10am for a full day basic map reading course. The morning will be indoors at the Ian Clough Hall, Baildon, the afternoon will be out in local countryside. Meet Richard Butcher of the West Yorkshire Geology Trust at 2pm near the Centenary Square mirror pool, below the large TV screen, for a themed walk. We shall explore the building stones used in Bradford, including the excellent local sandstones and the decorative stones used on the shop fronts and open spaces.
