The Design and Conservation Team are currently working on a Shopfront Design Guide for retail premises in the Saltaire World Heritage Site. We would like your comments on the guide in its draft form, especially if you own or lease a retail property in Saltaire. There are two key questions we would like you to consider in your comments relating to the content and the presentation of the guide; however additional comments are welcome.

Question 1 - Content

We have aimed to provide comprehensive advice on the issues specific to retail premises in Saltaire; general advice on the repair of roofs, walls etc is included in our Repairs and Maintenance Guide webpage.

Does the draft guide cover all the issues specific to retail premises in Saltaire; if not what else should be included?

Question 2 - Presentation

We have aimed to make the guide as visual and concise as possible and to clearly explain architectural terms and the various planning consents applicable in Saltaire.

Is the content of the guide easy to understand; if not what aspects require further explanation?
