The image of the Building Control Surveyor has changed considerably over the years and today they are recognised as highly skilled approachable professionals, capable of advising on a great range of issues in the construction field.

The Building Control Surveyor is trained to assess the design and construction process to ensure that the finished article meets the levels of health, safety and quality of life required by the Building Regulations.

To be able to do this they need to have a wide construction knowledge base allied with the ability to interpret this and apply it to find solutions when problems occur. Add to this good communication skills, professional integrity and an eye for diplomacy and you have a Building Control Professional.
