Days of Action
February 2007
A spectacular Day of Action took place in Woodhouse and Damside last month as residents, agencies and councillors worked together to help clean up the area! It was a successful day of hard work – over four tonnes of rubbish were removed from gardens and grot spots by the clean teams and local wardens.

As well as focusing on environmental improvements, the Day of Action also raised awareness of crime and personal safety. Crime prevention and fire safety equipment were given out to residents, and a Fire and Rescue display helped strengthen these messages. Ten untaxed vehicles were removed from the estate and a number of arrests were made as the police cracked down on crime.

Streets Ahead were pleased to see local residents taking pride in the clean up - children who helped out were given Easter eggs as a reward!
