City Park Film Transcript
This film is a fly through of the new City Park – a six acre park in the heart of Bradford city centre. The animation shows how the park will look when it’s finished in summer 2011. The main feature of the City Park is a large water feature (about the size of a football pitch) which contains over 100 fountains, light, sound and mist effects. The pool is only 22cm or 8 inches deep at its deepest point. The pool can be drained to reveal causeways and the three shallow pools which make up the mirror pool. When drained, the pool can also act as a major events space.
The film shows the pool gradually filling and the main fountain in the middle of the pool reaching up to 30m high - which is the height of seven double-decker buses. The film also shows that when full, the pool can act as a mirror to the surrounding architecture – hence its name as the mirror pool.
