Mobile Library Service
Our 3 Mobile Libraries provide a quality library service to the area of Bradford District Council that has no Local static Library. We visit inner areas as well as the outer reaches of the Bradford Council Metropolitan Area. We also have stops near Sheltered Housing complexes and Residential homes. Each vehicle has disabled access via a ramp.
The main aim of the Mobile Service is to provide access to the facilities of the library service to people in Bradford who, for whatever reason, have difficulties in getting to a branch library. We stock all ranges of Material suitable for everyone.
- Large Print
- Audio Books
- Access to the Internet
Requests for certain Titles or Authors can be made via our request systems that are free. Our Mobile Libraries are your link to the rest of the services we offer - if you have a query just ask the staff. If we can't answer it there and then we will try to find out for the next visit.
Each vehicle is staffed by two of our friendly and experienced driver/customer service officers. Joining is simple: just show one proof of ID showing your name and address and you can take items straight away.
We make every effort to keep to our regular timetable, but sometimes vehicle breakdown, or the weather, defeats us. On these rare occasions we try to let you know and, of course, fines will not be charged!
For further information on the exact times and locations of each stop, or for any query you have about the Mobile Library Service please contact us on the number/email below.
Home Library Service
We also have a Home Library Service for Customers who are physically unable to make use of their local library. A member of the library staff will visit once every three weeks and bring a selection of books in standard or large print or talking books which can be played on cassette or CD player for you to choose in your own home.
