Silsden Library

Visit to browse and borrow from our selection of fiction and non-fiction books, audio books – tapes and CDs - and DVDs. There’s something for everyone from board books for babies to large print titles for those who prefer their reading to come this way. If you can’t find what you are looking for our staff are always willing to help – please ask.

Pop in to read the papers or gather some local information. If you’re coming for the first time, please bring some ID with your current address on it so that we can register you as a customer. Parents, you’ll need your ID to sign your children up. Look out for under 5s promotions too.

And don’t forget there is free Internet access. If you’re into family history you can use Ancestry Library on one of our public access PCs.

If you can’t use a computer, we can help you get started. Ask for a free introductory session or sign up for MyGuide. This 5 week basic course will teach you what you need to know to get onto the internet, set up an email account and begin to find your way around.

Rhymetime takes place every Saturday morning at 10.30. Babies and young children enjoy music, stories and a simple craft activity. New families are always welcome to join in.

Every year we invite children to take part in the Summer Reading Challenge during July and August. There are always some special new books and all kinds of freebies to collect along the way. Watch out for special events that take place throughout the year.
