About Idle Library
This library was opened in 1995. The building is owned by Bradford Metropolitan District Council. The library was developed from the conversion of two 18th century cottages located in the heart of the village. The total floor area of the library is 154 square metres. Following the allocation of Idle Urban Village funding in 2005, the upstairs room has been developed into a heritage resource. The frontage has also been painted.
As well as over 5,000 books and free internet access, the library offers regular storytimes, taster sessions for IT learners, a reading group and access to information throughout the district.
