The Lord Mayor's Carnival Parade 2010
Saturday 19 June 2010
Centenary Square and Bradford City Centre
The streets of Bradford will be awash with colour as two high-profile city centre parades join forces.
For the first time, the Lord Mayor’s Carnival Parade will take place at the same time as the Lord Mayor’s Civic Parade, on Saturday, 19 June.
The Lord Mayor’s Carnival Parade this year celebrates the 2010 International Year of Biodiversity through the iconic image of the tiger.
More than 1,000 adults and children from across the district are expected to take part in the parade as it winds its way through the city centre.
The Lord Mayor’s civic service takes place at Bradford Cathedral at 11.30am. Following the service, the Lord Mayor, accompanied by councillors, senior council officers and representatives from key partner organisations, will then parade from the Cathedral to the city centre.
The carnival parade, which sets off from Northgate at 12.15pm, will meet the civic parade at Hustlergate. They will then all continue to Centenary Square for a spectacular finish.
