Advice for Overcrowded Households

Advice for Overcrowded Households

Bradford is part of the government’s Overcrowding Pathfinder programme, and receives funding to help tackle overcrowding in the district.

If you live in Bradford and your household is overcrowded, read the advice leaflet and booklet available below.

You can also contact the Overcrowding Programme Manager on 01274 432356, and the Incommunities Housing Advice team on 0845 141 6666 (see below for more details).

Measures implemented in the programme include:

  • Widening access to the Incommunities bond scheme
  • Space saving furniture grants
  • Help recycling empty homes for overcrowded households
  • Visits to overcrowded Housing Association tenants
  • Work with other agencies to deliver a “Housing Options” service for overcrowded households
  • Support for Incommunities tenants whose home is bigger than they need to move to a smaller property – making available family accommodation for overcrowded households

For more information about the Incommunities under-occupation scheme, please contact them on 01274 254107.
