Informal Resolution of Employee Complaints - Good Practice for Managers
This workshop is targeted at all Managers.
It is a requirement of managers on receipt of an employee complaint to seek to resolve the complaint informally. The first step for all managers is to have a successful conversation with the employee to establish the employee's concerns, what outcome they desire and the scope for informal resolution. The work develops the skills necessary to achieve this.
Outcomes:
- Have a framework for a conversation with the employee about their complaint taking a no blame, solution focused stance.
- Be able to summarise in a constructive neutral way what the employees situation is.
- Be able to help the employee to be clear about what outcome they desire.
- Be able to help the employee consider options available for resolution.
- Be able to describe how the Employee Mediation Service works and make referrals where appropriate.
