Will this course be useful to me in my job?

This course has been designed to enable staff, volunteers and carers who work with children and young people to understand why young people, children and their families go missing. This course will help you to appreciate the extent of the issue and to understand the associated risks to children and young people.

What does the course cover?

  • Government guidance and definitions
  • Education perspective – issues and responses
  • Police perspective – issues and responses
  • Connexions - involvement of Personal advisers
  • Links to Child Sexual Exploitation
  • Multi–agency working together assessing risk, good practice and prevention

The course will consider the issue from different agency perspectives including Children’s Social Care, Police, Education, Connexions and the Voluntary Sector.

There will be representatives with a special responsibility for the issue of Missing presenting at the course.
