Public Law Outline and Statutory Guidance re Child Care Proceedings

The Public Law Outline (PLO) together with updated statutory guidance has become the revised guidance for those managers and practitioners involved in making applications for care orders in respect of a child.

Using case studies, DVD extracts, and a guest speaker from Legal Services, this course will cover the following:

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the impact of this revised guidance on practice expectations prior to and during applications for court orders, in particular care and supervision order applications.
  • Understand the new expectations and responsibilities of judges, magistrates, legal representatives and Children’s Guardians prior to, and during proceedings.
  • Become familiar with revised documentation to be used prior to, and during care proceedings.

Aimed at: Bradford Services to Children and Young People: Detailed sessions for Social Workers and Managers, and Legal Services staff who are likely to be directly involved in applications for court orders
