Aim of course:
- Give workers a basic understanding of what it is like to be an asylum seeking
child - To develop an understanding of the immigration process - an asylum seeking child or young person has to go through and the roles of the professionals involved
It will cover:
- Who are asylum seekers/refugees?
- What is is like to be and asylum seeking child
- Legal issues/and emotional needs
- Definitions and legal understanding
- How border and immigration work
- Roles of professionals in the process
- A basic overview of how to work out a person's age
